A courageous mother in need but with dignity

Marie-Viviane has enrolled her youngest daughter, Sabrina, aged 4, at the School for Little Giants. As with her 3 older children, the success of her little girl is an absolute priority for this courageous mother.

Until now, Sabrina accompanied her mum to the quarry every day, where she helped her to break up blocks of stone to make gravel for ten hours a day for less than €2 a day...

The two men in this mother's life have both left home. She has to fight alone every day to try and provide for her little tribe. And her case is not an isolated one; many Malagasy women share this daily grind of inhuman effort and total self-sacrifice. But not all of them have the strength to continue to offer their children a smiling face that brings hope.

Marie-Viviane believes that the best way to help her daughter succeed is to teach her French, which she knows quite well, and to teach her to refuse all forms of resignation.

Her dearest wish is to see her little girl go to school for as long as possible to escape poverty.

What is certain is that she has already given her a huge dose of courage. Respect for her.
